A Crocheter's Garden of Afghans
Blueberry Twist
The refreshing image of abundant blueberries gives this luscious afghan a tranquil twist. Popcorn stitches create the blueberry clusters, and the rounded ends of the strips form a natural scalloped edge.
At first this pattern looked confusing as I had a string of clusters that didn't look anything like the pattern in the book. It wasn't until I began round 1 that the clusters took on their finished form.

Garden Patchwork
Brimming with beautiful pastels, this cozy blanket is perfectly pieced for spring. Make good use of your scraps to whip up the dozens of pretty posies.
This was a very nice pattern to work. The "join-as-you-go" or "no-sew" joining makes a seamless transition between motifs giving it a very smooth look. Brighter colors could be used for a different effect.

Colorful Mosiac
This brilliant, textured throw is a mosiac of beautiful colors. Gather your scraps to make the squares in a variety of hues, then use a single strong color to join them.
The ability to choose from a variety of colors and the strong textured stitch make this a fun project. It can be softened by using a lighter joining color.

Roses On Lace
Richly colored roses peek out from a bed of lace on our ornate afghan. Artfully assembled, this filgree floral garden exudes old fashioned grace.
This project wtih its rich lace and puff flowers gives it a vintage look. Pay special attention to the formation of the flower petals to achieve the desired results. While appearing complicated the lace is easily stitched.

Grandmother's Lace
Reminiscent of a shawl pulled from your grandmother's keepsake chest, our appealing blanket boasts a sea of beautiful blooms.
I worked this in blue, rather than the pink called for in the original pattern. The open motifs give this a light airy look. You could also work this in mohair or another "soft" yarn for additional charm.

Captivating Cosmos
Like a patch of colorful cosmos fluttering in the wind, this captivating throw will add bold style to any spot in your home. You can make the winsome, multi-colored blossoms using your scrap yarn collection.
I really like the way this pattern worked up. Another great use for scrap yarn. Don't "plan" your colors to much. Next time I may try a dark green background.

Blooming Squares
A breathtaking addition to a corner nook, our romantic wrap is one you're sure to love, Two-tone pink flowers dance upon a background of soft greens.
The pinks and greens form an interesting contrast as well as blending well together. I particularily like the way the edging came together with a ribboned look.

Blue & White Nine-patch
The simplicity of this design makes it easy to choose colors to complemnet your decor. Join crocheted strips of alternating blocks of color to form the check pattern.
This was an extremely easy pattern. The strips are worked in a no-sew pattern and then joined together to complete the blanket.

Old Fashioned Fans
Frame lacy multicolor fans with a rich rose mohair yarn for this delightful afghan.
I worked this in blues rather than rose and was pleased with the results. I also used a standard worsted yarn rather than mohair. You could probably work this in any vaigated or multicolored sheins paired with a complementing solid color.

Trip Around The World
Arrange double crochet stitch blocks in concentric circles of color for this cozy throw.
My son chose this pattern. I'm not sure I care for the color combinations. It is a nice pattern and I was pleased with the results. I may do another in different colors. The dog doesn't come with the pattern.
